点评:Obviously a visit on boat to Sangam in Allahabad (Prayagraj) is with religious fervour in heart and me my wife, my sons, my D in Ls all hired a boat and set off from the Akbar Qila side to the confluence of the Yamuna (which being deep has still waters) and Ganga ( which is relatively shallow so water current runs fast ) and Saraswati (which is invisible). Sangam is considered a very Holy place in Hindu dharma.
The Boatman initially asked for Rs.4500/- for the 40-45 minute trip for we six persons but we bargained and ultimately Rs. 1500/- was agreed upon (Three times Lower !!). As per Govt. rules there were Life jackets in good condition in the boat and we all wore same. The Trip was pleasant with the Boatman telling tales of Gangaji and other mythology ones to keep us engrossed. Near the Sangam there were scores of boats carrying hundreds of devotees some taking dip through a make shift platform between two adjacent parked boats made of wooden planks. The atmosphere ofcourse was of a religious frenzy with people chanting "Ganga Mayya ki Jay" and " Jai Shree Ram" and singing religious songs.
The Layte Hanuman ji Mandir is very near the river banks and Devotees coming from all over India, line up to have Darshan of Hanumanji here. When Gangaji is in spate the waters enter this temple and submerge the Moorti.
