点评：3 stars – Beautiful views ruined by terrible weather
We rode the Hakone Ropeway on a very foggy and rainy day with strong winds. The visibility was almost zero, so we missed out on the famous views of Mount Fuji and the Hakone area. What made it worse was how the cable car was getting battered by the wind and rain — it was rocking and shaking quite a bit, which made the whole experience feel really unsafe, even though I know it was probably completely safe from an engineering standpoint.
At one point, a passenger in our car jokingly mentioned it reminded them of the Final Destination movies, which definitely didn’t help calm anyone’s nerves!
The staff were professional and the ropeway itself seems very well maintained, but the combination of heavy fog, pouring rain, and strong winds turned what should have been a highlight of our Hakone trip into a somewhat stressful ride. Would love to try it again on a clear day.
