点评：We really wanted to camp in Louisiana. We were leaving from San Antonio and I was looking for a relatively close place to the western border of Louisiana. Holly Beach caught my eye. It was an easy drive over from San Antonio. We stayed at Holly Beach RV Park. The one thing I would have to STRESS is that Holly Beach is quite a ways from anything…gas, groceries, pharmacies, etc. Sulphur was the closest town and it was 40 miles away…SO come prepared with everything you’re going to want to have. The RV Park…like many of them…was literally just a place to park your camper. There was no office, no store, no bathrooms or shower houses, and no dumpsters or trash service…literally just a parking spot. BUT we are self contained and the owner/manager we spoke to in order to check in by phone was FANTASTIC! I called several times with questions, had to leave messages, and he was incredibly prompt in returning my calls and was VERY helpful getting us checked in just over the phone. We had a full hookup site and the beach was literally a 10 minute walk to the beach. There is a free local dump for your trash just 4 minutes down the road. Just be sure to check their hours. Holly Beach was a very calm, quiet beach full of friendly people. When we were there the water had been really rough. It was muddy, murky, and really not attractive to swim in. But in visiting with some of the locals, we had just hit it at a bad time. Just 5 days before they said the water had been crystal clear, people were just reaching down and picking up crabs, etc. Even though we didn’t swim, we had wonderful quiet walks on the beach and picked up lots of shells.
