A genuine hidden gem ,the likes of which are very rare nowadays.

点评：I'm not sure that I want to write a review about this place, the castle and village were so peaceful and beautiful that I don't want to tell anyone.
Norham village is a true hidden gem, one of those you don't often find anymore.
It has 2 fantastic pubs with great food and accommodation, a genuine corner shop( Not a convenience store) with fresh bread, produce and jams etc. A butchers/ deli, another shop selling fishing gear etc( not open at the time of visit) and a bread shop that only opens on a Saturday( brilliant). And a very reputable car garage. It also has a primary school and beautifully clean public toilets.
Take a walk to the right of the church for less than 100 yds and there is the resplendent river Tweed, turn right and a little way along is the viewpoint where Turner - yes Turner ,painted the view of the castle. Go left and it will take you to a beautiful bridge that takes you in to Scotland. It can easily be a full day out of you are looking for something close to Berwick and it's on a bus route.
