点评:It is hard to rate such a poignant reminder of how cruel and vicious Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge regime was against its own people, but it is a story that needs to be publicised and remembered.
Located in the site of a former secondary school used as an internment facility known as Security Prison 21 (S-21). Over 2,000 people were imprisoned at this torture and execution centre between 1973 and 1979, at any one time there was 1,000 - 1,500 inmates, including over 500 foreign nationals, with only 12 known survivors. The buildings were enclosed in electrified barbed wire, the classrooms converted into tiny prison and torture chambers, and all windows were covered with iron bars and barbed wire.
