点评：It was a spontaneous decision to visit Mt Pilatus. I was on my way to Luzern, and the view of the mountains was just mesmerizing. It was a clear day.
I had not planned anything in advance.
When I exited the train station, I took a bus to Kriens (it could be a 10-15 min shuttle or a regular bus). The ticket price might be included in your train ticket. That was my case. The bus driver confirmed that.
When I arrived in Kriens, I had to walk uphill for about 10 minutes. The signs were guiding me. I bought the gondola ticket right there. There was no line. If you have a travel pass, you’ll get a discount. Ofc you can book the ticket online.
After that, I hopped on the gondola. The ride up took 30 min. You can exit after 15 min, but I did not. After a 30 min ride, you’ll have to change the gondola. There is a restaurant there too in case you would like to take a break. At this stage, the views are already breathtaking. To reach the summit, you have to take another gondola, bigger one. It runs every 15 minutes. It’s a 5 min ride. And here you are, on top of Mount Pilatus.
There are a few restaurants there. A gift shop. And even a hotel. I spent about 1,5 hours having a coffee and soaking up the views.
It wasn’t crowded that day, but I guess during peak season it can get quite packed.
