Safety Concern! Taken out during official no-go warning with no life jackets - 29 Aug 2026

点评：My family of 4 booked a half day deep sea fishing trip with Le Performant Big Game Fishing for 29th August 2026 for my son's birthday. We requested rods for all four and a chance to swim.
Before boarding I asked about life jackets for my family including 2 children. I was told we would be given them on the boat, but no life jackets were provided despite requesting them.
On the day, there was a national Strong Wind and Heavy Swell Warning in force (28th Aug 04h00 - 30th Aug 22h00). The official government notice advised all pleasure-craft users not to go to sea and stated waves of 4-6 metres were expected. We were not informed of this warning before departure. I specifically asked the captain if weather was OK to go fishing and was told it was fine.
Once at sea conditions were very rough, the boat was rocking heavily and waves were coming over the side. My husband and two sons became severely seasick. We asked to turn back and the captain did turn back, which we appreciated.
On returning we checked the forecast and saw the official warning not to go to sea. We also contacted Mrs Anna Belle via our taxi driver who had helped with the booking.
We were very disappointed. We did not get the trip we booked, my family were ill, and we had no life jackets during very rough conditions that were under an official warning. I have reported my safety concerns to the Tourism Authority for review.
I would advise future guests to check the Mauritius weather warnings before sailing and to confirm safety equipment is on board before departure.
