Beautiful Speakeasy, but Style Over Substance

点评：With its elegant décor, intimate lighting, and stylish seating areas, Soora Speakeasy Bar at Ayodya Resort Bali certainly looks the part. The atmosphere is sophisticated and inviting, creating the expectation of a premium cocktail and dining experience.
Unfortunately, the reality did not match the setting. The cocktail menu is ambitious and creative, but many of the drinks seemed over-engineered at the expense of flavour and balance. We sampled several cocktails throughout the evening and found them consistently disappointing. Even a classic gin and tonic, usually difficult to get wrong, lacked the freshness and simplicity that makes the drink enjoyable.
The food raised more serious concerns. Our first dish, deep-fried prawns, arrived cold with the centre still frozen. Hoping it was an isolated mistake, we continued, only to later be served undercooked chicken. At that point, we decided not to order anything further.
The venue itself is stunning and has all the ingredients for a memorable night out, but the kitchen and bar execution fell well below the standard suggested by the surroundings. A disappointing experience in what should have been one of the resort’s standout dining venues.
