点评:We saw signs for this place when driving through Masham, so we decided to visit. There’s a one track road with passing places to get to this place. Parking is free and entrance was £17 each. The woman at the ticket office was very friendly and told us that the council limit numbers to the gardens due to the traffic. So it is best to book in advance online to confirm your place.
We didn’t know what to expect, but this place exceeded all expectations. It was a beautiful serene place, quite hilly in places. But there are accessible paths and also paths with steps. A huge range of plants, flowers and trees. Lovely grassy areas to relax, plenty of benches to sit down on and beautiful lake areas. The sculptures are great to see and some are available to purchase.
We stopped and did a bit of meditation in the gardens and sat in the sun relaxing in another part of the garden. There is a Japanese garden pagoda, a Norse identity cabin and a beautiful Indian stone/wood house. I’ve never been to anywhere like it, it’s beautiful, unique and peaceful. We honestly didn’t want to leave. This place is good for your soul! The cafe is lovely too, a bit pricey. But the staff were friendly and the food nice. We are definitely putting this on our list of places to revisit. I can’t recommend this place enough. And if you have a RHS membership it is free entry in September and October.
