Great garden, not so great cafe.
Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park的点评
点评:A beautiful, spring visit to this garden. Lots of flowering shrubs and plants - rhododendron, magnolia etc, still with lots to come into bloom. The native bluebells were just coming into flower all over the banks.
A fantastic, eclectic mix of statuary to marvel at - very interesting and quirky.
We went into the cafe where, unfortunately, we weren’t as impressed.
Hubby chose the ‘Gardeners Platter’ at lunchtime. It included a slice of ham which was good but then half of a TINY pork pie, which was clearly not fresh in. The pastry being soft, damp and just plain stale; a tiny piece of cheese about 2 inches square; a TINY bread roll which was also stale like the pork pie, being dry and crumbly and a few other small incidentals such as chutney and a few grapes.
All in all, at £13.25, it was an expensive and disappointing offering.
We feel the cafe should be able to do better with this dish - all the ingredients should at least be fresh and the meagre amounts seemed to smack of penny pinching.
Such a shame that the cafe experience rather spoiled our visit.
