点评:Sorrento’s Corso Italia is a charming shopping and eatery district in the heart of Sorrento. There are some souvenir shops but most of the businesses focus on leather goods , clothing, wine, limoncello or artisanal meats. There are numerous cafes, restaurants and gelaterias. The tiny medieval side streets should not be missed as there are wonderful small shops and cafés to discover as well.
During our visit, it was the low tourist season, so it was really interesting to see how the Italians promenade as part of their daily routine. Between 5-8 pm, the Corso is teeming with families, couples, friends who are meeting up after a days work. People dress up and walk slowly, window shopping, stopping for a café or glass of wine and a few small aperitivos. The Corso becomes quieter from 8-10 pm when people go home or to restaurants to eat dinner and then people come out again to walk or for the younger set to go to bars and clubs. It’s a really lovely part of Italian culture and not to be missed.
