点评：This very substantial museum (which is one the three Eesti Meremuuseums in the city) gives a good overview of many aspects of how Estonians have lived, worked, and fought at sea. Not only are the exhibits comprehensive, interesting, and often very large, but the building itself is an impressive architectural gem. Originally constructed between 1915 and 1917 as a seaplane hangar, it has 8,000 square metres of exhibition space, which is enough to hold an entire Estonian submarine - the Lembit - which dates from 1936. Exhibits span the air, on the sea and below the sea. There are interactive exhibits where one can, among other things, try to pilot a seaplane, and steer a small boat in a pool. There is a small, but excellent art gallery depicting ships and the sea, with some of the paintings located at child-level. Outside an icebreaker and a variety of patrol boats can be explored. Practical Information: Expect to spend 2-3 hours. The museum offers a wide range of children’s activities, and there is a very good café.
