点评:Visiting Kiyomizu-dera was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my family’s trip to Kyoto awhile back. This popular temple was a must-do trip to Japan. Kiyomizu-dera is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Kyoto. Visiting Kiyomizu-dera Temple was both beautiful and meaningful. Kiyomizu-dera is perhaps the most famous Buddhist temple in Kyoto. It was founded in 778, although most of the buildings standing today date back to 1633. No wonder Kiyomizu-dera Temple is one of Kyoto’s most celebrated and historically significant landmarks as it offers a beautiful blend of spirituality, traditional architecture, and nature. Originally founded in the 8th century and later rebuilt over the centuries, the temple is especially famous for its massive wooden terrace overlooking Kyoto and the surrounding hills. What makes the temple truly unique is its large wooden terrace, supported by an intricate interlocking timber framework that was built without the use of a single nail. I bow to, take refuge in, and call upon the Greatly Merciful, Greatly Compassionate Bodhisattva who hears the cries of the world. Praise to the Jewel in the Lotus. Practitioners chant this to cultivate deep compassion within themselves, seek protection from suffering, and connect with the energy of universal mercy. One of the world’s most iconic UNESCO heritage sites in Kyoto. Wonderful architecture on hill top. Visiting Kiyomizu-dera was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my trip to Kyoto.
