点评：The Stone Forest is AMAZING! It's a natural wonder you simply must experience.
Here are some tips to make your visit even better:
- Consider a door-to-door ride. Our hotel in Kunming offered a private driver who took us there and back, including waiting for us for the necessary hours. The price was 500 Renminbi, which was a fair deal compared to DiDi and taxis. We usually use public transportation, but it takes many, many hours.
- Arrive in the middle of the day. Everyone thinks it's best to arrive in the morning to "beat the crowds," but that's a myth. EVERYONE comes in the morning. We arrived at 12 PM and went straight to the ticket counter with no lines.
- Also buy a ticket for the electric minibus. It takes you the first boring 3 km stretch and back again. The rest of the time, we recommend walking around on your own.
- The paths are well-maintained, and there are signs to all the major sights in the park. Most people only go to the 'Stone Forest Marvels.' You should definitely see it, but then quickly move on to the other 'scenic areas' where you'll almost be alone.
- We walked 10,000 steps and covered most of it in 3 hours. We would have liked 1-2 more hours but had an arrangement with the driver.
- Bring your own water and snacks or buy them in the area just outside the park.
