National Museum of Qatar的点评
点评：This museum tells the natural and human history of Qatar. It’s a brief and very simple story but the curator has done an amazing job of making this one of the most immersive museum experiences that I have witnessed. One side exhibit was of three cars, a garish one-off Cobra, a State Mercedes 600 and a Ferrari 250 GTO LWB. Not the most interesting collection, and not the best exhibit in the museum, but I was there, in the most stylish space, alone with one knowledgeable staff member, within touching distance of the cars, for 30 minutes. The building itself, desert rose crystal facsimile designed by Jean Nouvel is one of the finest examples of modern architecture I have ever experienced; and you experience it rather than just see it. I’m a lucky chap who has visited national museums on every continent, except The Antarctic, from the Smithsonian to the Falkland Islands Museum, from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo to the Melbourne Museum in Oz and, if you’re visiting Qatar, then the museum of Qatar is a must.
