点评:My wife and I had a wonderful guided tour with a fantastically interesting and learned guide named Matsuo. A retired, tall, upstanding gentleman, Matsuo spent over two hours leading us around the southern part of the gardens. He not only explained the physical aspects of the park - the cedar and pine trees, the water aspects, the stones, the man made features - he also conveyed the sense of how Japanese people felt about such beauty. He was caring, attentive and instructive and funny too. A great personality to go with a great park, Matsuo made the visiting experience all the more memorable. From a very grateful visitor,I would like to thank both Matsuo and the guardians of the park for such a wonderful afternoon in nature. If you do nothing else in Japan, go to Takakmatsu, Ritsurin and ask for Matsuo. It may just change your life.
