点评：Our visit to Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad on the 9th of December was, regrettably, a deeply disappointing experience—particularly given the lofty expectations we carried with us. As visitors from Canada, my wife and I, accompanied by two relatives, were eager to immerse ourselves in what is often portrayed as one of the city’s most iconic and picturesque landmarks.
However, the reality proved to be starkly incongruous with its reputation. The most immediate and overpowering aspect of our visit was the pervasive malodor emanating from the lake. The unpleasant stench was not merely a minor inconvenience but a significant deterrent, effectively dissuading all four of us from engaging in any of the recreational activities typically associated with the area. What should have been a serene and memorable outing instead became an exercise in discomfort and disillusionment.
It is disheartening to witness such a prominent attraction in a state of neglect. The potential of Hussain Sagar is undeniable—it holds both historical and cultural significance—but its current condition undermines its appeal and, by extension, the broader image of the city’s tourism landscape. There is an urgent need for intervention by governmental and tourism authorities to address issues of pollution, maintenance, and overall environmental quality.
