点评：If you want to get away from the dense concrete jungle of central Tokyo without travelling too far, Odaiba is the place to go. Located on reclaimed land just across the iconic Rainbow Bridge from central Tokyo, this modern and futuristic waterfront district is known for its wide open spaces, with broad pedestrian boulevards, lovely waterfront parks, man-made sandy beaches and a futuristic skyline. It was originally built for defensive purposes during the Edo period, but was redeveloped in the late 20th century as a bold urban experiment to showcase Tokyo's vision of the future. It's easily accessible via the Yurikamome line, an elevated driverless train (watch how it loops elegantly as it ascends onto the Rainbow Bridge). Whether you're here for shopping, sightseeing or swimming, you'll never run out of things to do here. There are numerous shopping malls (DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, Aqua City, DECKS), futuristic buildings with cool observation decks (Fuji TV Headquarters, Telecom Center), and instagrammable landmarks (the life-sized Gundam statue and a mini Statue of Liberty). An understated attraction in Odaiba is the Soya, a Japanese ice-breaker ship now converted into a free museum. And finally, the view of Tokyo skyline across Tokyo Bay with the Rainbow Bridge in the foreground is simply spellbinding!
