点评:We almost gave the museum a miss after reading online about how crowded it gets and we were travelling from Kyoto and not getting there until mid morning so wondered if it was worth it. We turned up with low expectations bought tickets and walked straight in, it wasn’t crowded at all mid morning. A good tip was to get the audio guide for 500 yen and you can stand back from the exhibits then and hear the background story instead of having to read small plaques … get the full story of Shins tricycle 🥺 It’s very moving and confronting but well worth doing and it’s an event that should never be forgotten. As the cenotaph says “let all the souls here rest in peace, for we shall not repeat the evil”. The whole area around is lovely and there’s a lot to see and do and a really nice vibe to the whole place which was unexpected.
