点评:One of the most impressive cultural and spiritual landmarks in Japan that my family had visited awhile back. Absolutely breathtaking. One of Nara's most iconic landmarks and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you're visiting the city, it's an attraction that simply shouldn't be missed. Tōdai-ji is an enormous wooden temple, beautifully decorated inside and home to the spectacular Great Buddha. It is famous for the Big Buddha (Daibutsuden Hall), one of the world's largest wooden structures, housing a 15-meter bronze statue of Vairocana Buddha. Children will especially enjoy crawling through the small hole at the bottom of one of the wooden pillars of that I had done once. It is said to be the same size as the Great Buddha’s nostril, and tradition says that anyone who manages to pass through it will receive good luck, good health or enlightenment in their next life. The grounds are inhabited by countless of sacred wild deer. They have long been regarded as divine envoys of the kami (Gods) of Kasugataisha Shrine and have, therefore, been carefully protected. You can feed the deer but only by purchasing special biscuits especially made for them for a nominal price of 200 💴 for 5 biscuits. The deer love the biscuits and will sometimes bow to you for you to feed them. A remarkable place where history, spirituality, and architecture come together beautifully. Must visit when you are in Nara. 🇯🇵🦌⛩️🙏
