点评:This is a beautiful way to get out in the country and enjoy the scenery and a trip down memory lane. My family and I grew up in a town with a steam locomotive. It is no longer operating, so it is wonderful that we can have this experience. This trip was a birthday gift for our 95 year old mother. She really enjoyed her ride. The staff were great. Lots of interesting history, too.
The hardest part of the trip is lack of bathroom facilities. The Arcade station has a women’s room with 3 stalls. It was a long line and in a cramped space to get there. There are no fatalities on the train itself. At the Curriers station, in the middle of farm country, there is an outhouse type facility. One for men and one for women. Again, for the women, there were long lines. That really is the worst of it. A lack of modern conveniences that we are used to.
What a gift to the community of western N.Y. to still be able to experience what life was like over 100 years ago. Great for the whole family!
