Jiuzhaigou in Winter: A Breathtaking Experience Worth the Time
九寨沟自然保护区的点评
点评：Jiuzhaigou is absolutely breathtaking, and I highly recommend doing at least a 3-day, 2-night trip because the park is massive and truly deserves time to be explored properly. The scenery is so stunning that photos honestly don’t do it justice. From the crystal-clear lakes to the waterfalls and snow-covered mountains, every corner feels like something out of a painting.
We visited on January 1, which our guide mentioned is considered low season. Despite this, there were still quite a number of visitors, and it was extremely cold, with temperatures ranging from around -6 to -9°C, so proper winter clothing is essential.
The park itself is well-managed and getting around is very convenient thanks to the shuttle bus system. That said, there were occasional announcements over the PA system made only in Chinese, such as asking if passengers wanted to get off at a certain stop, which may be challenging for foreign visitors. Still, overall navigation within the park was relatively easy.
Food and snacks inside the park are about twice the price compared to outside, but they are still reasonably priced, filling, and convenient if you plan to spend the whole day exploring.
Outside the park, there are many people offering tour guide services. Since we didn’t personally check their pricing or reliability, I would recommend doing proper research and arranging a guide ahead of time, or simply exploring the park on your own if you’re comfortable doing it DIY.
Overall, Jiuzhaigou is one of those rare places that truly lives up to the hype and is easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited.
