点评:This is an excellent museum, and great value for money. Not only are the various exhibitions and 'rooms' fascinating, but because the site itself is so ancient, the place is a historic monument in its own right. There's just the right amount of information, presented in various ways, from interactive state of the art 'boards', to ancient artefacts, via immersive experiences. The exhibition rooms are numbered, so it's advisable to do them in order, and a fair amount of the museum is outdoors, not least the spectacular views from the top of the Herodian Phasael Tower. The museum itself tells the story of Jerusalem from the perspectives of the three monotheistic religions but, of course, with an emphasis of the ancient Jewish city and the present day capital of Israel. We spent around four hours there, including coffee and cake in the pleasant café.
Although we didn't use one, there's a free audio guide on offer, and regular guided tours in English and Hebrew.
If going by tram, get off at City Hall, and walk towards Jaffa Gate, where the museum's entrance in on the right before entering the Gate, and opposite the entrance of the Mamilla Mall.
