点评:Friday afternoon on 25th August we were sightseeing and exploring along the streets of Wexford Town.
While walking down North Main Street we could not miss this rather impressive tall stone clock tower.
It belongs to Saint Iberius Church and was built in the 19th-century Venetian renaissance style. It was rather eye-catching and visible from some distance along the street.
Above it's large arched entrance there are two windows with ornate columns toped with a sculpted frame. Above the windows is the clock surrounded by a ring of orange and black bricks.
On top of all this is a narrower section with a pointed slate roof and six sculpted window recesses. We assumed that this housed the church's bell.
The street hanging baskets outside the entrance did add some colour to the scene.
We did not have time to go inside, however we did stop for a few moments to appreciate this impressive Tower.
