点评：Minyon Falls was one of the highlights of my visit to the Byron Bay hinterland. Hidden within the ancient rainforest of Nightcap National Park, this magnificent waterfall plunges around 100 metres into a deep gorge surrounded by lush greenery and dramatic cliffs.
The lookout alone is worth the drive. From the viewing platform, I was treated to breathtaking views of the waterfall, the rainforest valley below, and endless rolling hills stretching towards the coast. On a clear day, the scenery seems to go on forever. The sound of the water, the fresh mountain air and the calls of native birds create a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to slow down and simply enjoy nature.
The picnic area is well maintained, with plenty of shade and convenient parking, making it an excellent place for a relaxing day trip. For those who enjoy walking, several trails lead through beautiful rainforest filled with towering trees, ferns and wildlife. I was lucky enough to spot a striking Australian water dragon along the way, which made the experience even more memorable.
What impressed me most was the combination of powerful natural beauty and the sense of history within this landscape. The ancient rainforest, volcanic cliffs and cultural significance of the area create a place that feels truly special.
Whether you stop at the lookout or take the hike down to the base of the falls, Minyon Falls is a destination that should not be missed when exploring the Byron Bay region.
