A hectic market, bustling, overcrowded and not the safest spot needs awareness and caution

点评：A must see massive market area with loads of things to see, enjoy , buy and eat. Please do not participate in animal cruelty such as the monkey and snake charmers etc. beware women will be chased by the henna ladies and they will force you to pay large amounts for rubbish. If buying anything please note all prices are already astronomically marked up. Don’t buy anything without bartering, you need to be strong minded and be prepared to walk away don’t pay more than 50-60 of the price asked. It does work and you need to be strong and determined.
Please don’t wander down the dark alleys that come off the main walks as they and you may well not be safe. Toilets are not readily available unless you go to a restaurant and buy something to eat or drink.
The fruit juice stalls offer a wide variety of cold juices at 20 dirahms which works out £1.80 at this time. The main market also hosts the evening food market which comes into fruition around 6.00pm every night.
Please be alert and aware of scammers, pick pockets. My advice is don’t go as a single person if avoidable as they pick on individuals a lot more. There are a couple of main walks around the souk and well worth exploring. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the square to enjoy a well deserved break in the mid day heat.
