An amazing hidden gem not fare from the rock of Cashel
Holy Cross Abbey的点评
点评：This is such a hidden gem of a historical site. The tour price of only €5 was remarkably low given the time we spent and the enjoyment we experienced.
Our guide John Bourke was a wonderful host and we spent a really enjoyable hour hearing about the history of the abbey from it's beginnings 800 years ago to the present day.
The Padre Pio garden with stations of the cross made by Enrico Manfrini are just beautiful and worth a visit on their own. Their twin replicas are in the Vatican for use by the pope so to see them in Tipperary is just such a treat
The church and it's architecture and history is amazing the relics are worth a visit even without a tour but we would definitely recommend taking the tour and hearing all of the one of a kind things to be seen in Holycross
The tour was really informative and interactive really fun and the hour just flew by. The Abbey itself is beautiful and peaceful the grounds are just gorgeous.
The shop on site was really well stocked with some beautiful gifts.
All in all a super way to spend an hour with a tour or some time just wandering the grounds if your visiting the rock of Cashel it's definitely worth the 10 or 15 minute drive to Holycross to see this amazing historical site.
