点评：cannot recommend the Pyramids of Giza enough – this is a true bucket-list wonder of the world that exceeded every expectation. After a grueling 289-mile journey that started at 2am, the long trek was absolutely well worth it. By the time we arrived as the sun was rising, the sight of those ancient monuments emerging from the desert haze literally took my breath away.
The scale is impossible to grasp until you're standing right there. The Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Sphinx, and the surrounding complex are simply awe-inspiring. Every stone tells a story thousands of years old, and the engineering precision still blows the mind in 2026. We hired a knowledgeable local guide who brought the history to life with fascinating details about the pharaohs, construction techniques, and even some lesser-known secrets. Watching the morning light dance across the limestone was pure magic.
Yes, it can get busy, but go early (like we unintentionally did after our overnight drive) and the crowds are manageable. The experience is profound, humbling, and unforgettable. If you're even thinking about visiting Egypt, make the Pyramids your number one priority. The 289 miles and 2am start were nothing compared to the lifetime memories we gained.
