点评：I’ve visited Preikestolen many times over the years — this was roughly my eighth hike — most recently in May 2025. Returning in different seasons and conditions has only reinforced why this is one of Norway’s most iconic viewpoints.
The trail is well marked and well maintained, making the hike achievable for a wide range of people with basic fitness. That said, it’s not a casual stroll. The terrain is varied, with stone steps, rocky sections, and gradual elevation that rewards steady pacing rather than technical skill.
Visiting in May offered a particularly good balance. There were people on the trail, but it never felt overcrowded, and the landscape still carried the calm of early season. Having experienced Preikestolen both during peak summer and quieter periods, spring remains one of the most enjoyable times to hike here.
Reaching the plateau is always a striking moment, no matter how many times you’ve been. The scale of the cliff above Lysefjorden is difficult to capture in photos, and the open space at the top allows people to spread out and take in the view without feeling rushed. Even with its popularity, the area generally handles visitor numbers well when conditions are good.
What makes Preikestolen special is its combination of accessibility and impact. It delivers a world-class view without requiring advanced mountain experience, as long as visitors prepare properly, respect the weather, and show caution near the edge.
