点评:This is the most expensive tourist attraction in kampala. It was supposed to be $20 for me as a foreign tourist, but it was actually 84k UGX, $24. When I named that that was a terrible exchange rate, the staffer agreed and shrugged. It wasn't that many years ago that they were charging 15k UGX, though at least they post the price these days. And your guide expects a tip, even though it's not a common practice here.
In this context, it's just ok. Skip it if you're on a short visit or you've already seen Kabaka Palace (at least half of what the guides say is redundant, even when I told this guide that I'd already been to the Palace). The buildings are pretty interesting as long as you realize that the main one is a reconstruction, as from what I heard the fire pretty much destroyed it.
You'll get to hear some traditional drumming at the end. Lots of good things in other reviews apply, I just wanted to give context. If you still feel like shelling out after a safari, go for it. But if you're backpacking and eating $2 local food, this isn't worth it. They can't justify the high price anymore now that reconstruction is "98% complete," according to my guide.
