WOW… just WOW! 😍
As two serious book lovers, walking into El Ateneo Grand Splendid felt like stepping into another world.
The beautiful architecture, the incredible theatre interior and that absolutely vast collection of books — we could have stayed here all day!
And for me personally, as a writer, this place felt like heaven on earth. ❤️📚
We spent half a day simply wandering, admiring, browsing and soaking up the atmosphere. It wasn’t just a bookshop visit — it was an experience in itself.
The fact that this magnificent former theatre has been transformed into a bookshop makes it even more special. You can stand there and imagine the performances that once took place here, while today people sit surrounded by books.
🇦🇷 Travellers — DO NOT MISS THIS!
Even though the selection of English-language books wasn’t huge, that honestly didn’t matter to us.
We weren’t there just to buy a book.
We were there to experience the place. ❤️
And yes… we did leave with a book to remember our Buenos Aires visit. 📖🇦🇷
One of those travel experiences that stays with you long after you’ve left.
