Historically important; exhibition space limited, claustrophobic
Petersen Boarding House的点评
点评:This is the third time I have been to Ford's Theatre, once many years ago as a child when the theatre was still permanently closed; once to see a play and then yesterday to do the tour. The theatre and the Peterson house where Lincoln died across the street are well worth seeing for their historic importance. The exhibition, however, is not all that interesting but what annoyed me and my guest was how claustrophobic and airless it felt. You go down a narrow windy flight of stairs to a basement. The space is small and was crowded when I went. It felt uncomfortable, claustrophobic. After half an hour you are allowed to go into the theatre for a lecture. After that you can see the house where Lincoln died. This was the first time I'd seen the house which was interesting for its historic significance. The furniture is not original, however. The guide said that the bed was not the one Lincoln used; he explained that the original was in Chicago. The house was a bit moldy/musty smelling. They might need to do some maintenance.
