Completely oversold... please avoid!
Darjeeling Toy Train Maybe Cancelled的点评
点评：I don't normally provide negative reviews, but want to spare others the experience we had.
We expected a lot from this given the hype around this elsewhere and the comparatively high cost. We covered the stretch from Darjeeling and Ghoom.
However, the reality was that this was not the picturesque train ride overlooking vistas of tea terraces and mountains that we had expected, but rather a rickety train spewing pollution into the faces of its passengers that crawled up the hill within centimetres of the urban sprawl of Darjeeling and its surrounds. Every 90 seconds passengers experience a sharp horn blast as the driver has to clear the line. There is nothing to see at Ghoom or the other stop. The train also ran an hour late which caused us to shorten our visit to other, frankly more worthwhile, attractions.
It wasn't all bad, the carriages were clean and the passengers were lovely, but that was not enough to make up for the other shortcomings of this experience.
