Great garden centre but shame about the pet policy

点评：We started our day at The Dingle, which was easily the best garden centre I’ve ever visited! The plant variety was incredible, everything was clearly well-loved and the lake/gardens were absolutely beautiful.
Since they don't have an on-site cafe, we were advised to head over to Derwen Garden Centre. Unfortunately, our experience there was disappointing. Despite having our miniature dachshund in a secure carry bag (no different than carrying a handbag) and sitting outside we were told to leave after ordering at the cafe because they are not dog-friendly. On a hot day, leaving her in the car wasn't an option and the car park also has very little shaded areas.
It felt quite inconsistent given that their partner site is so welcoming to pets. It’s a shame, as most modern garden centres are dog-friendly now. It was a frustrating end to the trip, especially since we’d already paid for our (rather expensive) food/coffee and couldn't leave the dog in the car.
We can’t comment on the Derwen garden centre plants as obviously weren’t able to look round but from afar it did look like it would be good.
For doggy people stick to The Dingle for the plants, but maybe find lunch elsewhere! :)
