点评:Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Langham Glass. I had pre booked a 11.15 to 12.00 time slot yesterday evening for our visit today. We were greeted by Sarah on the reception desk who was friendly and welcoming. We browsed the many items on display in the showroom until it was our turn to watch the demonstration.
Charley complete with headset and microphone gave an informative and running commentary on the processes, techniques and materials used into producing these lovely objects. Chris and Ian worked in harmony together to produce a swallow, giraffe, bud vase before finishing off with a fluted glass with twisted stem.
The craftsmanship and attention to detail makes you appreciate even more the work and artistry needed to produce each individual item.
The time went extremely quickly but I managed to ask Charley a couple of additional questions about the glass making process at the end of the demonstration, to which he willingly obliged.
Would definitely recommend a visit to Langham Glass. The only sad feature was that during his commentary Charley mentioned only around 150 glass makers remain within the industry. So please support this business if you get chance
