点评:Must climb steps! We were staying near Shinagawa Station and looking for a nearby shrine to visit to buy an omamori charm before leaving Japan. With no expectations, we walked 20 minutes and found it to be a small but colorful shrine especially with the miniature Mt. Fuji you can climb. They have a display room to the left of the main building housing several of their omikoshi portable shrines from several historical periods that were quite interesting. In November we could see several families, all dressed up, bringing their babies to be blessed and older children for the Shichi Go San the ceremony for 7, 5 and 3 year olds. As some Japanese reviewers point out, the staff are not especially helpful, but that did not detract from the overall experience. Making our way back to the station crossing a pedestrian bridge over the Meguro "river" and along the local streets of the neighborhood also felt like a step back in time - it's hard to see a few remaining ordinary old wooden small shop and house buildings in Tokyo. Look for Kita-Shinagawa Shotengai North Shinagawa Shopping Street) banners in Japanese 北品川.
