点评:The trip was absolutely worth it, and it’s something you should make time for when visiting Colombia. Even though it’s a bit physically demanding, it was very manageable. We went at a fairly fast pace, but there were stops and snacks along the way, which helped a lot. Also, you are able to leave stuff at the Santa Marta office and also drop them off at the campsites and take them on the way back.
The sleeping conditions were pretty good considering we were in the middle of the jungle. We had insect nets that were pretty efficient so we slept like babies. The downside was that the showers were cold, but it was hot enough that it was manageable.
By far the best part of the trip was bonding with the group. There were 13 of us (Mulas team), and the Expotur team:
Our guide was Eucario who is one of the most patient and calm men I have ever met. He acted like the father of the group and did everything in his power to keep us happy and motivated.
Our translator was Justin and he was a pleasure to talk to. He was very warm and welcoming and seemed genuinely happy to help with any question I had.
And last, but not least, our chef was Ernesto. I don’t know how he managed to always get to the campsites before is and have delicious food ready on time. We even asked for seconds a few times.
Overall, it was a great experience that I would recommend doing once, weather it’s for the views or for the social aspect.
