Westport Lake的点评
点评：Visited Westport Lake Visitor Centre while passing through. The setting itself is lovely — nice walks around the lake and plenty of wildlife, which makes for a really pleasant environment.
Unfortunately, the café experience didn’t match the surroundings. We ordered egg on toast (with an extra egg and asked for brown bread), a sausage sandwich, a double espresso, a carton of strawberry milkshake, and a lemon muffin. The total came to £18, which already felt on the higher side for what we ordered.
The coffee arrived quickly, but the food took over half an hour — and only after having to go back up and ask about it again. By that point, the drinks had long been finished, and even the cake had been eaten before the breakfast arrived.
When the food did arrive, the order wasn’t correct: no extra egg, not served on brown bread as requested, and the “double” espresso was actually just a single. We also weren’t given any cutlery and had to go and find some ourselves.
What stood out most was the lack of acknowledgement — no apology for the delay, and the overall impression was that we were more of an inconvenience than customers.
To be fair, the place itself looked clean and well-kept, and it’s great to see things like solar energy use and even free fruit available — those are definite positives. But unfortunately, the service let the whole experience down.
Won’t be visiting again — though I suppose that’s less of an issue since I likely won’t be passing through again either.
