点评：We had an amazing view of Pocitos beach from an apartment building facing the ocean. This beach is incredible, a constant location for activity and fun. It was exciting to watch people training/playing football, volleyball and running, walking, biking along the beautiful beach. We took full advantage of those activities ourselves. However, Be Careful About Going Into The Water: we encountered a frequent smell of sewer gas. We researched and found from local authorities the following information: "The sewage-like smell at Pocitos Beach in Montevideo is primarily linked to, and acknowledged by authorities as, leaks from the subaquatic outfall (emisario subacuático) that have existed for many years. Elevated levels of fecal bacteria, particularly enterococci and coliforms, have been detected in the water, indicating contamination." We used plastic-backed beach blankets when on the beach. Every morning, there were machines and people cleaning the sand. I hope they can implement measures to stop the contamination of the water. We headed outside the city to other beaches throughout the week.
