点评:It’s a bit of a journey out into the suburbs, but one which will live with me forever. I went on a tour of the memorial with an absolutely brilliant guide (English speaking tour). I wish I could remember her name so I could mention her here (she rode off on a bicycle after). The picture drawn by our guide was stark and horrific. I decided against taking any photos here because it would be massively disrespectful to the victims of this monument to living hell. Again, we have to admire the bravery and foresight of those former inmates who showed the world what they’d been through as soon as the wall came down. It is without doubt one of the starkest places I’ve ever visited - the dark history of this prison doesn’t just make you stop and think, it makes you reevaluate and appreciate the fact that we can openly speak of our present day leaders almost as we see fit. I can’t recommend this place enough- the humanity of the survivors and historians who keep this monument running are truly great people.
