A Big Challenge, But Absolutely Worth It.

点评：We had wanted to visit Choquequirao for a long time, so this year we finally decided to go for it. After doing some research online, we chose Local Trekkers Peru, a 100% local company based in Cusco. From the beginning, organizing everything with them was easy and communication was always quick.
Before starting, we had a lot of doubts about what to expect. I won't lie, the 5-day Choquequirao Trek is a serious physical challenge. There are some tough climbs and long days of walking, so you definitely need to be prepared. We traveled as a family with our two children, aged 10, 14 and 15, which made us a little nervous before the trek.
Fortunately, the Local Trekkers Peru team took really good care of us. Our guide was fantastic, very professional, patient and always willing to help. What we appreciated most was that he walked at our pace and never made us feel like we were slowing the group down. In the evenings, he would tell us stories about the Incas, their culture and their empire, which made the whole experience much more than just a hike.
Our cook and muleteer were also amazing. Every day they worked incredibly hard preparing the meals, packing the equipment and moving everything from one campsite to the next. You really start to appreciate how much work happens behind the scenes on a trek like this.
And then there is Choquequirao itself. After all the effort to get there, seeing this incredible Inca site surrounded by mountains was something we'll never forget. The fact that it is so remote and receives far fewer visitors made the experience even more special.
For our family, completing the Choquequirao Trek together was an incredible experience and probably one of the biggest adventures of our trip to Peru.
If you're looking for something challenging, different and far away from the usual tourist routes, we definitely recommend Choquequirao and Local Trekkers Peru. It wasn't easy, but that's exactly what made reaching the end feel so rewarding!
