点评:Our entire family was captivated by the breathtaking craftsmanship, the location and the accessibility to the site - yes, there were some areas fenced off, but for the main you can walk pretty much where you want. Others complaining about the lack of info are misguided; there’s an excellent app (for free) Paphos UNESCO - telling you about the various archeological sites. It features a written description or if you can’t be bothered, an audio version too. And it’s free.
It’s worth a visit, especially if you are able bodied and can walk easily on slightly uneven terrain. The history behind it is inspiring and the details left behind for us to understand the advanced civilisation that once used this to bury their loved ones.
5 Euros for a family of four
Visited in August at around 4:30pm entry (take water / hat / umbrella for shade)
Wear flat shoes like trainers.
Allow a couple of hours
In a rush - visit the following:
Tomb 3 (the icon, best photo),
Tomb 4 (best-preserved, most complex layout),
Tomb 5 (biggest colonnade, 12 standing pillars),
Tomb 8 (Ptolemaic significance, sea views, quietest)
