点评:We visited Casa Rocca Piccola during a recent visit to Malta. The casa has been in the De Piro family for 8 generations and parts of the house are 450 years old.
You can have a guided or audio tour which I am sure are both fascinating, but we were fortunate enough to encounter Marquis Nicholas de Piro, now aged 84, on the first floor. He is a lovely interesting man and was very happy to talk to us and others about the many paintings (of all genres including family paintings), artefacts, antiques, bric-a-brac and collections. He is a mine of information and so interesting to listen to with his many tales.
My favourite was the collection of chess pieces but I am sure there is something there to interest everybody.
Afterwards, we lingered in the quiet courtyard with its high walls and we attempted to start a conversation with the macaw, Kiku, to no avail.
I am so pleased that Nicholas de Piro has opened up the house and can highly recommend that you visit.
