An interesting museum, but not so great for English speakers
Luxembourg National Museum of Natural History的点评
点评：We had a couple of hours here on a hot day. We really appreciated the cool air conditioning!
We suspect if you could read French or German you would have a different experience. Almost all of the written information displayed is on French or German.
We did use the audio guides and these do provide an English version. However we didn't really enjoy the audio guides. Within each room there was a long list of very short recordings to listen to, each of which - we worked out - related to one of the displays. The problem was, without understanding French or German it wasn't clear which of the displays the specific recording related to. Having a much smaller number of (longer) recordings for each room with clear linkages to the displays or the route you need to take would make it much easier to keep up and follow along.
We also think the information in the audio guides was fairly basic, my kids said they knew most of what was said through school..
After a few rooms we gave up with the audio guides and just did our best with Google Lens. This was a shame as we have been to attractions before where the audio guides really add an interesting dimension.
We realise we are visiting Luxembourg and that we are making huge presumptions that others will adjust to our inability to speak any language but our own. We are very grateful for the many efforts made to put up with this during our visit!
The staff were very friendly and plentiful (as we discovered in Luxembourg almost every room had a staff member)
