点评:A bit disappointing experience. Could be missed. After a cyclone damages the village in 2016 a large part of the village has non-traditional houses and the traditional houses are obviously preserved to attract tourist. We visited independently and did not see any other tourists, but somehow it felt less authentic than the more remote villages we visited on the Yasawas.
Entrance fee is raised to 45FJD per person, which is outrageous. You pay at one of the homes near the entrance of the village. A compulsory guide is 20 FJD. After the tour we could walk around freely. No need to bring kava, but if you bring some it will be appreciated and if you want you can do a kava ceremony.
You can have lunch when visiting or stay overnight. Just show up, pay the entrance fee and ask for a homestay (20-30 FJD per person night double / single). The homestay can provide meals. Prices are negotiable.
If you want to get there by car, you could do it with a high clearance powerfull SUV in the dry season, but a 4WD is better. Without 4WD you would need to go back to Ba again, because south of Navala a 4WD with high clearance is a must.
There are 4 busses per day.
School bus: Navala-Ba-Navala-Ba 5.00-6.00-7.00-8.00
Afternoon: Ba-Navala-Ba 12.15-13.30-14.30
Late afternoon: Ba-Navala 15.30-16.30 and 17.15-18.30 (both one way!)
