点评:It's a day of nature and beauty...not resorts and getting waiting on hand and foot. We rented a car right in the ferry parking lot (reserve ahead of time online!) for $100 for the day. (Note: When we returned it, the guy never even looked at it to see if we had filled up or if it was still intact. VERY relaxed about it.)
Stopped at the Flamingo Lake look out which is just a small wooden stand next to an abandoned building. They're there...just way, way out, so binoculars are a must. There were SO many!!
Then we continued on to Dragon Bay Resort where the views are stunning. Find the walkway near the little restaurant that goes up to the cliff top. Follow that lovely stone path along the edge and then it turns inward and suddenly drops down into the ground via a staircase that goes through the limestone down to the beach below. Magical.
Continued on to Indian Cave (tiny wooden sign on left side of road). Fascinating vine growth through roof holes way down to the ground.
On to the causeway which is super sketchy as it's under repair, but you'll be fine. Then on to Bambarra Beach. LOVELY. Shallow sheltered bay with crystal clear turquoise water. There were a couple of drink/food shacks on the beach, but that's all there is. So bring lots of water, food and drink, and sunblock. Don't bother with snorkel equipment as it's not that kind of beach.
Went back to Dragon Bay on the way back as it was low tide and found an amazing natural tidal pool out by the "dragon" rock formation. Spectacular color and like Nature's own hot tub.
Headed back, got gas ($37.00 for less than a 1/4 tank of gas) and back to the final ferry by 4pm for the 4:30 leaving time. It's the last one so allow enough time!
Make a round trip ferry reservation ahead of time online as it's totally packed on that last ferry back to Provo. Note: We had an SUV so we stuck to the paved roads but a jeep could handle the (terrible) rough roads to even more isolated spots. Over all it's a day of beauty, nature, rugged beaches that are not all built up. It's like stepping back in time and pretty amazing that islands that saturated in natural beauty are not covered in resorts.
