Ipanema Beach is absolutely gorgeous—exactly like the postcard version of Brazil you have in your head. The mountain backdrop is stunning, and the beach has an amazing energy. If you love to surf, this spot is top-tier because the waves are fantastic!
The Vendors:
You do have to be prepared for the constant flow of beach vendors. There is pretty much always someone walking past your towel trying to sell snacks, drinks, or beach gear, which can get a little repetitive after a while.
The Silver Lining:
The great thing is that they are not pushy at all. A simple, polite "No, thank you" (or "Não, obrigado") is all it takes—they accept it immediately and just move along without any hassle or attitude.
