Fascinating Cemetery in Buenos Aires
雷科莱塔公墓的点评
点评：I was staying in Recoleta, so I walked to cemetery from my hotel. The hotel stated an opening tome of 8am on a Friday morning, but the actual opening time was 9am, so don't rely on the accuracy of the website.
I advise to arrive early as this avoids the tourist buses and groups of school children who started to arrive mid way during my visit.
I opted to do a self tour as I prefer to do things independently.
There are leaflets available at the ticket desk in various languages so you have map of the cemetery.
The archictecture of the various tombs and statues was amazing and covered over 160 years of burials in the city.
The resting place of Eva Peron was very small as it was a plaque on a wall, so would be easy to miss. There is a sign and also permanent bunches of flowers laid at the foot of the memorial.
I could have spent days exploring this fascinating site, but my time was limited to a 6 night stay.
I thoroughly recommend visiting this cemetery when visiting Buenos Aires as it is the final resting place of some of Buenos Aires illustrious people.
