点评:Calabogie Peaks has good terrain and a lot of potential, but the overall experience was undermined by ongoing management and operational issues.
During my visit, the hill opened late, and several expected services were limited or unavailable, including food, bar service, and other amenities, with little communication to guests. There were visible signs of strain, such as temporary signage redirecting guests away from facilities and continued public hiring for key operational roles well into the season.
Staffing instability was also noticeable. On one weekend, the hill opened late following a widely discussed employee walkout, and many of those staff members were no longer working at the resort shortly afterward, resulting in service disruptions that were apparent to guests.
More broadly, management’s decision not to allow the local ski racing club to continue operating at the hill was disappointing and reflects a broader disconnect with the local skiing community.
It’s unfortunate, because the skiing itself is solid. With stronger leadership, more stable staffing, and better communication, this could be a much better destination. As it stands, poor management detracts significantly from an otherwise strong hill.
