点评:There're several issues with this huge Temple.
First is its location - in the middle of hustle downtown Shanghai, on a corner of two very congested streets and a subway station. Several huge shopping malls around and residential high rises.
Second - No peace at all due to all that noise, so I wonder how believers come and pray here, let alone mediate.
Third is its history - it was banned during the Cultural revolution and converted into a factory (likewise many in east Europe countries under communist regimes), as well semi dismantled and damaged. They seem to still renovate it trying to regain its former glory and here we reach the fourth issue - paying entry fee of 50 yuan (around 7$).
For a much more spiritual, nicer and free experience I suggest visiting the Jade Buddha Temple not far from here.
